McManus signed a one-year deal to join Washington in March, but he'll now be looking for a new opportunity elsewhere. The Commanders don't currently have another kicker on their roster, which may change as soon as Monday.

1d agoHennessy (knee) was an active participant at the Eagles' OTAs this past week, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Hennessy was unavailable for the entirety of the 2023 campaign with a knee injury, but he looks to be a full go ahead of 2024. The 26-year-old will likely operate as a depth option behind Landon Dickerson and Tyler Steen at offensive guard this season.

Jake Hanson NYJ CJets' Jake Hanson: Active at OTAs
2d agoHanson (concussion) is participating at the Jets' organized training activities, Zach Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Hanson was placed on New York's injured reserve prior to last season's final week. It seems as though he has since cleared all the league's concussion protocols, given his presence at OTAs. He is projected to compete for a depth role on the team's offensive line in the upcoming season.

Wheatley went on New England's injured reserve in October of last season due to a knee injury. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par at this point. Barring any setbacks, he will continue competing for a depth offensive line role heading into the season.

Ekuale's season ended in September of last year after the Patriots placed him on injured reserve with a torn biceps. His participation at OTAs indicates his health is back up to par. The veteran defensive tackle is projected to provide depth on New England's interior defensive line this season.

O'Neill played in only one of Minnesota's final four games last season with what was eventually disclosed as a small fracture in his left foot. He appears to be back to full health and is slated to work as the Vikings' starting right tackle for the 2024 campaign.

2h agoKlein (1-0) struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the win Sunday over the Padres.
Klein worked the ninth inning while the Royals were down 3-1, and they rallied for a walk-off win in their half of the frame. The rookie right-hander has displayed some promise with five strikeouts over his first three innings in the majors, though he's also allowed two runs and four hits. Klein figures to operate in a low-leverage role as long as he's on the Royals' 26-man roster. He's pitched to a 1.93 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 23:14 K:BB over 23.1 innings at Triple-A Omaha this season, showing significant growth from 2023.

2h agoEflin (back) threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.
Sunday's session was Eflin's second bullpen in the last four days. He threw two simulated innings and came away feeling good. There hasn't been an official date set for his return, but Eflin said he's "checked the boxes" in his recovery and could return as early as June 5 against Miami.

Pressly allowed a leadoff walk, which ultimately became the game-winning run for the Twins. He took his second loss in his last three appearances, and Pressly has allowed three earned runs in that span. Though he has had stretches of effectiveness this season, he now owns a 5.06 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 21.1 innings.

Meyers started his 17th consecutive game in center field and hit fifth Sunday -- matching his highest spot in the order of the season. He's gone 19-for-61 in that span, also tallying three homers, eight runs scored 10 RBI and two stolen bases. Meyers is on the field primarily due to his defensive play, though he's benefitted at the plate from cutting his strikeout rate to 18.7 percent in 155 plate appearances.

Caratini drew consecutive starts behind the plate for the first time this season and has now started three of Houston's last four games. He has only two hits in that span, though both have left the yard. It's unlikely that Caratini's playing time outlook will change in the long term, though Yainer Diaz hit just .200/.213/.259 across 88 plate appearances in May.

2h agoKing came away with a no-decision Sunday against the Royals, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings.
King was sharp, not allowing an extra-base hit and turning in another quality start, his fifth over his past six contests. The 29-year-old snapped a three-game streak allowing a home run, something he has struggled with all season -- his 1.8 HR/9 ranks in the ninth percentile. On the whole, King has been solid this season, recording a 3.82 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with a 78:31 K:BB across 73 innings. The right-hander will look to build off this success in his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend against Arizona.

The Sixth Man of the Year award winner did not fully live up to his regular-season standards in the playoffs. However, he did have a few great games against Denver and Dallas in the postseason as the Timberwolves put together an impressive run. The 24-year-old averaged 13.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.8 steals across 24.2 minutes while appearing in 81 regular-season games. Reid will likely be a key part of the rotation next season as the Timberwolves aim for another strong playoff push in a stacked Western Conference.

Antetokounmpo missed the final three games of the Bucks' regular season, followed by their six playoff games prior to being eliminated by the Pacers. The superstar forward revealed following Game 6 that he was "not close" to returning to the Bucks lineup due to his calf strain. There will be roughly a two-month gap between Milwaukee's final contest and Greece's first qualifying game, and it appears the 29-year-old will be back to full health. Barring any setbacks, he should be at full strength for the start of the 2024-25 season. The two-time MVP averaged 30.4 points, 11.5 rebounds and a career-high 6.5 assists to go along with 1.2 steals, 1.1 blocks and 0.5 triples across 35.2 minutes in 73 regular-season games last season.

Alexander-Walker averaged just 3.4 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 15.4 minutes across the Western Conference. He also struggled mightily with his efficiency, shooting 28.6 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from three across the five contests. However, the 25-year-old guard converted 39.1 percent of his 4.1 three-point attempts per game during the regular season and will head into the 2024-25 campaign under the last year of his two-year, $9 million contract.

Tanev avoided missing time after suffering an injury in Game 4 versus the Oilers. The defenseman did his job this postseason, picking up two assists to go with 73 blocked shots, 31 hits and a plus-7 rating over 19 playoff contests. Even at 34 years old, Tanev should have a healthy market as a steady and reliable shutdown defenseman if he makes it to free agency July 1.

Seguin finished the postseason with five goals, eight assists, 59 shots on net, 32 hits and a plus-9 rating in a top-six role for the Stars, but he went without a goal in the last five contests. The 32-year-old forward was bothered by a lower-body injury late in the regular season, and it's unclear if that was still a factor in the playoffs, though he certainly played well enough to seem fully healthy. Seguin has three years left on a contract with a $9.85 million cap hit and a no-move clause, so he's a virtual lock to reprise his top-six role with the Stars in 2024-25 even though his offense doesn't match his salary at this stage of his career.

Marchment had three goals and two assists over 13 playoff outings, though it's unclear if he had any lingering effects from an undisclosed injury he suffered in the first round. The 28-year-old winger has two years left on his current contract, so it's expected he'll around to provide grit and depth scoring in a middle-six role for the Stars in 2024-25.

The Oilers struck twice on the power play in the first period and then bunkered down. That left Oettinger with little to do over the final 40 minutes, but the Stars couldn't make a comeback to give their goalie a chance to be a hero. Oettinger's postseason comes to a close with a 10-9 record, a 2.24 GAA and a .915 save percentage over 19 appearances. He'll head into 2024-25 as the Stars' No. 1 goalie while playing for a new contract.

With just four points over six games in the Western Conference Finals, Draisaitl actually had a quiet round. It didn't ultimately matter, as Connor McDavid picked up the slack to help the Oilers make the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 2006. Draisaitl is at 10 goals, 18 helpers, 57 shots on goal, 17 hits and 12 PIM through 18 playoff outings. The Panthers will likely have Aleksander Barkov hard-matched with McDavid in the Stanley Cup Finals, so there could be more room for Draisaitl to make an impact on his own line.

Evan Bouchard EDM DOilers' Evan Bouchard: Two more assists in win
3h agoBouchard logged two power-play assists and blocked four shots in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Stars in Game 6.
Bouchard was held partly in check early in the series, but he racked up four helpers over the last two games as the Oilers' power play returned to its usual level of dominance. The defenseman is up to six goals, 21 helpers, 12 power-play points, 54 shots on net, 33 blocks and a plus-14 rating through 18 playoff outings. The Panthers' high pace and heavy play will be the next hurdle for Bouchard to face amid his breakout postseason as an all-around top-tier defenseman.
