Cade Stover 2005 TETexans' Cade Stover: Reuinites with Stroud in Houston
2m agoThe Texans selected Stover in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 123rd overall.
Stover is a solid tight end prospect who established himself as a reliable target in the Ohio State offense over the years despite the Buckeyes having elite star power at receiver. He started all but one game over his final two seasons in Columbus and racked up 77 catches for 982 yards on 101 targets to go with 10 touchdowns. Stover is more pass-catcher than blocker, which helps his fantasy appeal. However, the landing spot is tricky for him with Dalton Schultz under contract and Brevin Jordan beginning to break out. It may take some time for Stover to carve out a role in H-Town but the talent is there.

Tory Taylor 2005 PBears' Tory Taylor: Bolsters Chicago's special teams
3m agoThe Bears selected Taylor in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 122nd overall.
Taylor grew up in Australia but came stateside to play collegiate football at Iowa. He emerged as one of the premier punters in the country during his four years with the Hawkeyes, and he averaged 48.2 yards per punt and landed 34.4 percent of his kicks inside the 20 as a senior. The Ray Guy Award winner should immediately take over punting duties in the Windy City.

7m agoThe Dolphins selected Wright in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 120th overall.
It might seem like an annoying landing spot for Wright (5-foot-11, 210 pounds) at a glance, but the former Tennessee speedster could earn more playing time than most third-string runners in Miami due to the limited workload capacities of Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane. Not just that, but Wright's blazing speed (4.38-second 40) is a perfect fit for what coach Mike McDaniel does in the running game. The Dolphins have an interest in managing the workloads of Mostert and Achane so that their rare explosiveness is still intact come playoff time, and Wright gives them a means of doing so at little or no cost to effectiveness. Defenses praying for relief from the Miami speed onslaught will find no such thing when Wright takes the field. Wright probably isn't a truly complete running back and might not ever be a volume candidate himself, but Mostert and Achane have already demonstrated how a speedy runner can do major damage in the Miami offense even with modest workloads.

AJ Barner 2005 TESeahawks' AJ Barner: Tremendous landing spot in Seattle
8m agoThe Seahawks selected Barner in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 121st overall.
Barner tallied just 64 receptions, 610 yards and five touchdowns across 20 collegiate starts with both Indiana and Michigan over his four seasons, but it's fair to dream about what the tantalizing 6-foot-6 frame coupled with the incoming position's largest wingspan could do as a pass catcher at the NFL level. Barner is a bit lean (251 pounds) for his height and he didn't showcase the type of crazy athleticism that so many of his peers did at the NFL Combine, but the Big Ten pedigree will always attract a certain organizational philosophy regardless if the production is there. Expect Barner to compete with a number of veteran flotsam for the No. 2 TE job behind the newly re-signed Noah Fant.

Mason McCormick 2005 IOLSteelers' Mason McCormick: Added to O-Line in Steel City
11m agoThe Steelers selected McCormick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 119th overall.
McCormick is the third offensive lineman selected by the Steelers in the first four rounds of the draft. Restocking the trenches is a clear priority in Pittsburgh this year and McCormick helps to that end. The South Dakota State Jackrabbit tested as a standout athlete at the combine, showing that he can make the leap to the league even coming from a smaller school. He's remarkably experienced for a rookie as well with 70 games and 57 starts under his belt, though SDSU was often making deep runs in the FCS postseason to boost those numbers. McCormick will be a 24-year-old rookie, but that signals that he's more of a pro-ready than developmental prospect.

Knight is known for his motor and drive, which is illustrated by his rise from beginning his collegiate career at a community college to becoming one of the most prolific tacklers in the FBS. Over his final three years at UTEP, he posted 337 total tackles -- 31 of which went for a loss. Knight is limited mostly to a run-stuffing role, but he could find his way to the field quickly on early downs and special teams.

2m agoSeager is not in the Rangers' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.
Seager will begin Saturday's game in the dugout as he gets a rest day for the first time since April 15. Since then, Seager has gone 6-for-37 with one run and one RBI. Josh Smith will start at shortstop and Ezequiel Duran at third base against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene.

Omaha's game Friday was rained out, but Hernandez should be expected to make a few rehab outings with the club over the next few weeks as he looks to get up to speed. The right-hander missed all of spring training due to a right shoulder impingement.

The Rockies were permitted to add an additional position player to their roster for their two-game series in Mexico City, so Toglia will come up from Albuquerque to provide additional flexibility at first base and in the outfield. The 25-year-old has slashed .106/.143/.362 across 49 big-league plate appearances.

Camilo Doval SF RPGiants' Camilo Doval: Records second win
21m agoDoval (2-0) allowed two hits and a walk while striking out one over a scoreless inning to earn the win Friday over the Pirates.
Doval walked the tightrope in the top of the ninth inning Friday, loading the bases with one out before inducing a double play to escape the jam while keeping the game scoreless. Patrick Bailey then delivered a walk-off three-run home run to give Doval and the Giants the win. Doval has kept runs off the board in seven of his nine appearances this season, earning four saves with a 3.12 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings.

24m agoArias went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta.
Arias' last four starts have been evenly split between second and third, providing opportunities for Jose Ramirez and Andres Gimenez to get rest. Arias is off to a solid start this season in a utility role, slashing .278/.304/.426 with three steals, one home run, eight RBI and seven runs scored across 56 plate appearances. He's already played at six different positions this season, so he should be able to be in the lineup semi-regularly despite lacking a single obvious path to playing time.

Damian Lillard MIL PGBucks' Damian Lillard: Game 4 in doubt
31m agoLillard suffered a strained Achilles in Friday's loss to the Pacers and there is serious doubt over his availability for Game 4 on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Lillard was able to return to Game 3 after suffering the injury and finished the contest with 28 points (6-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 12-12 FT), eight assists, three steals and one rebound over 45 minutes. Final confirmation on his status Sunday will presumably come closer to game time. AJ Green, Andre Jackson and Malik Beasley would all be candidates to see increased minutes alongside Patrick Beverley in the backcourt should Lillard indeed need to sit out.

Robinson was seen wearing a walking boot on his sprained left ankle following an early exit in Thursday's 125-114 loss to the 76ers. He had accumulated two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 FT) and seven rebounds across 12 minutes before leaving. His absence from Saturdays' practice is not a good sign for his status for Sunday's Game 4, but the team has not ruled the big man out. If he ultimately does not get the green light, Precious Achiuwa figures to serve as the primary backup behind Isaiah Hartenstein.

Booker finished just two assists away from recording a double-double in Game 3, and the star guard will need to be at his best Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round. Booker's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though this was the first time he surpassed the 20-point plateau.

Beal led the Suns in scoring Friday, but as has been the case throughout the series, Phoenix simply hasn't been able to hang on with the Timberwolves throughout an entire game, which explains the 0-3 deficit the Suns are currently in right now. This was the first team Beal surpassed the 15-point mark in the series, and the veteran guard will need to keep the momentum going for Game 4 on Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round.

Durant bounced back from a subpar showing in Game 2, at least for his lofty standards, and he had a strong showing in Game 3, but once again, his contributions were not enough to lift the Suns to victory as Phoenix fell into an 0-3 deficit. Durant will need to be at his best if the Suns want to avoid the sweep in Game 4 on Sunday. He's averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in the series.

Gobert's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though the increased offensive responsibility in Game 3 was directly related to Karl-Anthony Towns being limited with foul trouble. Gobert also has two double-doubles in three games during he current series, averaging 17.0 points and 13.0 boards per contest.

Martin played through the injury in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes, logging just 8:16 of ice time. He has 16 PIM, seven hits and three blocked shots over three outings this postseason. Martin will be replaced in Saturday's lineup by Ruslan Iskhakov.

Swayman is coming off a 28-save performance in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Maple Leafs in Game 3. He has stopped 63 of 66 shots en route to a 2-0 record in the opening round of the postseason. If the Bruins emerge victorious Saturday, the team can take a 3-1 stranglehold in the best-of-seven series.

The 32-year-old could be replaced by Nick Jensen (upper body) or Rasmus Sandin (upper body) should they be cleared to return, but both remain game-time decisions.

Andersen is a perfect 3-0 versus the Islanders in the opening round. He has allowed six goals on 77 shots (.922 save percentage) as the Hurricanes have shut down the Islanders in the series. Andersen was outstanding in the regular season, going 13-2-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .932 save percentage in 16 appearances.

Bobby McMann TOR CMaple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Nearing return to ice
2h agoPer Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun, McMann (lower body) is getting closer to returning to practice, according to coach Sheldon Keefe.
McMann missed the last two games of the regular season, and will miss his fourth straight playoff game Saturday, after he was injured Apr. 13 versus Detroit. McMann was a huge surprise this season, as he had 15 goals, nine assists and 117 hits in 56 regular-season games. He is still a possible option to return to action for the latter part of the opening round versus the Bruins.
