Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Present for start of OTAs
    1h ago

Tagovailoa is present for the start of OTAs on Monday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Tagovailoa was recently reported to have missed a notable amount of Miami's offseason work amidst ongoing talks about a contract extension, but the 26-year-old quarterback in the building to kick off the start of OTAs. It appears that both Tagovailoa and the Dolphins' organization are confident that an extension will get done prior to the start of the regular season, so unless things stall on that front there shouldn't be too many concerns about the quarterback's offseason participation. Currently, Tagovailoa is slated to play out the 2024 campaign on his fifth-year option. He played a full 17 games last year for the first time in his career, achieving new highs with 4,624 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Bills' Mack Hollins: More competition emerges
    21h ago

Hollins, who was signed as a free agent by the Bills in March, has seen the receiver room fill out in the time since, with the Bills drafting Keon Coleman in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft while also adding veterans Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Chase Claypool.

For a very brief period, Hollins was a starter on the otherwise lethal Buffalo offensive depth chart, but things have changed, and it now looks as if the Bills will let several journeymen duke it out for slotting. With Buffalo being likely to feature running back James Cook and tight end Dalton Kincaid heavily in the passing game, it's difficult to envision Hollins having anything more than a depth role as a receiver that offers good size in the red zone, though it should be noted that he's never caught more than four touchdowns in an NFL season.

Texans' Tank Dell: Engages in workout Saturday
    2d ago

Dell (leg) ran and performed drills Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday.

Astros' Jose Altuve: Pops first homer of May
    2m ago

Altuve went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored Sunday against the Brewers.

Altuve led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run, his eighth of the season and first since April 28. He's hit a moderate slump in May, as he's hitting .243 with six RBI and nine runs scored across 17 games, though he has chipped in three stolen bases. Altuve has maintained a .854 OPS across the first 207 plate appearances of the campaign so there's little reason for concern for his slightly slower stretch of production.

Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Homers again in Sunday's loss

Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Torkelson got the Tigers on the board with a solo blast center off Jordan Montgomery in the third inning and later scored once more after reaching on a fielder's choice. After not homering in the first 37 games of the season, Torkelson now has three home runs in his last seven games and seems to finally be heating up after a slow start to the year. The 24-year-old also has at least a hit in 12-of-13 games dating back to May 5 and is now slashing .227/.291/.360 with 17 RBI, 21 runs and a 13:43 BB:K in 189 plate appearances.

Stephens elected free agency Sunday after declining an outright assignment by Atlanta, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Stephens did the same thing back in March before re-signing on a minor-league contract, so it's possible that happens again. The reliever has allowed one run over 3.1 innings during his time in the majors this season.

DeLuca went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a stolen base Sunday against the Blue Jays.

He made the case to maintain consistent playing time over the Rays' weekend series, homering on Saturday while also collecting two steals across the three games. For now, he appears to be in a rotation for two outfield spots with Jose Siri and Josh Lowe, but DeLuca could ultimately overtake Siri if his defense proves to be good enough in center field.

Nuggets' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: Poor offensive showing Sunday

Caldwell-Pope racked up five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), six rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 40 minutes during Sunday's 98-90 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Caldwell-Pope scored single digits for the sixth time in the past eight games, highlighting the Nuggets' struggles when it comes to depth on the offensive end. While he continues to play a key role for Denver, his lack of production cannot be ignored when it comes to fantasy value. Looking ahead to next season, there is no reason to think he will be anything more than a situational streamer, utilized for steals and threes.

Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Scores game-high 35 points
    3h ago

Murray provided 35 points (13-27 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 5-5 FT), three rebounds and three assists over 43 minutes during Sunday's 98-90 loss to Minnesota in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Murray did everything he could to get the Nuggets over the line but ultimately came up short. He and Nikola Jokic scored 69 of the Nuggets 90 points, highlighting just how unimpactful their bench was. While it was a disappointing end for Murray, his production this year was right in line with what fantasy managers expected coming into the season. Given they will likely be contending again next season, there is no reason to think anything changes moving forward.

Nuggets' Michael Porter: Goes cold in Game 7 loss

Porter posted seven points (3-12 FG, 1-6 3Pt), nine rebounds and two blocks across 34 minutes during Sunday's 98-90 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals.

Porter went just 1-of-6 from the three-point line, continuing what had been a rough series. In fact, over the seven-game span, Porter scored fewer than 10 points on five occasions. It was an unfortunate end for Porter after he managed to put together a strong season. Projecting forward, Porter should be able to maintain mid-round value in most fantasy formats.

McDaniels scored at least 20 points for the second straight game, helping the Timberwolves to an impressive victory in Game 7 over the Nuggets. Although his offensive output can be inconsistent, he has been a little more reliable during the postseason. Coming up against the Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals, McDaniels is going to have to maintain his offensive mindset to contend with the likes of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

Reid played additional minutes down the stretch with Karl-Anthony Towns in foul trouble. As usual, Reid delivered on the offensive end but also tallied a couple of key blocks. He should once again play a pivotal role off the bench for Minnesota against the high-flying Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.

Despite scoring just 13 points, Gobert connected on a number of key baskets down the stretch. This included a turnaround jump shot as the shot clock expired, impressing even his own teammates. The win sees the Timberwolves advance to their first Western Conference Finals appearance in 20 years. Gobert will once again be a force on the defensive end of the floor, tasked with limiting both Daniel Gafford and Derrick Lively.
