Chukwuebuka Godrick KC OT
Chiefs' Chukwuebuka Godrick: Arrested on misdemeanor charge
2h agoGodrick and teammate Wanya Morris were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Godrick and Morris were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Godrick is expected to compete for a roster spot in 2024 after spending his rookie year on Kansas City's practice squad in 2023. It's unclear whether Godrick will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Chiefs' Wanya Morris: Arrested for misdemeanor possession
2h agoMorris and teammate Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Morris and Godrick were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Morris is expected to compete for the starting left tackle spot for the Chiefs in 2024. It's unclear whether Morris will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Lamical Perine KC RB
La'Mical Perine: Waived by KC
4h agoPerine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.

T.J. Hockenson MIN TE
Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
7h agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

Najee Harris PIT RB
Steelers' Najee Harris: Dropping weight for contract season
15h agoHarris' trainer said Friday the running back has dropped to around 235 pounds this offseason after playing at 242 during the 2023 season, and that he's increasingly motivated after the Steelers declined his fifth-year option, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Harris is heading into the final season of his rookie deal with Pittsburgh, so there's no doubt about his motivation to log a productive year and earn sizeable payday for 2025. Playing at a lower weight could help Harris' efficiency metrics, and there's also some reason to be optimistic that he now finds himself in a better scenario than 2023, when he set new career-high marks with eight rushing touchdowns and 4.1 YPC. Rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu should represent an upgrade to the O-line, and while there are question marks surrounding Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both have the potential to command a more effective offense than Kenny Pickett did. Harris is capable of handling 20-plus touches but also dependent on volume to produce, making the emergence of Jaylen Warren the biggest threat to his fantasy prospects.

Tua Tagovailoa MIA QB
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Has skipped some offseason work
15h agoTagovailoa has reportedly missed most of Miami's team activities this offseason while negotiations on a potential contract extension continue, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.
Coach Mike McDaniel and GM Chris Grier have both vocally supported the idea of Tagovailoa remaining with the Dolphins on a long-term basis and an extension being penned this offseason; however, it sounds like until that's official, the team may not have the quarterback's full participation. That said, Tagovailoa was confirmedly a participant in part of Miami's offseason workouts back in April, with Poupart noting the team released videos of him throwing on multiple different days. There are no signs Tagovailoa would consider skipping June's mandatory minicamp, and the quarterback has downplayed concerns about contract negotiations. As things currently stand, Tagovailoa is set to play out the 2024 season under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract.

Nolan Gorman STL 2B
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Swats homer in win
1m agoGorman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-6 win over the Red Sox.
Gorman's bat is coming around -- he's 6-for-19 (.316) with two homers and four RBI over his last six games. The second baseman took Boston starter Brayan Bello deep in the second inning of this contest. Gorman is up to a .193/.288/.370 slash line with six homers, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored, no stolen bases and six doubles through 153 plate appearances, and he's not helping his cause to remain in an everyday role with a 34.6 percent strikeout rate. While the threat isn't immediate, Gorman could be one of the players to see a reduced role once Tommy Edman (wrist) is able to return to action.

Jonathan India CIN 2B
Reds' Jonathan India: Tallies hit in return
3m agoIndia went 1-for-4 and scored a run during Friday's loss to the Dodgers.
India had missed the last two games due to a migraine, but the issue subsided ahead of Friday's contest, allowing him to return to the leadoff spot in Cincinnati's lineup. During his first game back, the 27-year-old infielder singled in the fourth inning and came around to score the Reds' first run of the game, though Cincinnati's offense was ultimately unable to keep up with the Dodgers'. India is now 11-for-48 (.229) with one RBI since the beginning of May.

Masyn Winn STL SS
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Hits first homer of season
5m agoWinn went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 10-6 win over the Red Sox.
Winn has done a lot of things right this season, but he didn't have a homer until he took Boston reliever Cam Booser deep in the sixth inning. The shortstop has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, going 11-for-34 (.324) in that span. Winn is up to a .280/.343/.384 slash line with 10 RBI, 12 runs scored, seven stolen bases, six doubles and three triples through 142 plate appearances in a near-everyday role.
-
Alec Burleson STL DH
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Clubs fifth homer
7m agoBurleson went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBi in Friday's 10-6 win over the Red Sox.
Burleson popped a go-ahead solo shot in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the seventh. The 25-year-old has multiple hits in three straight games, which is only strengthening his claim for playing time between designated hitter, the corner outfield spots and first base. Burleson is up to five homers, 17 RBI, nine runs scored, one stolen base and a .286/.316/.473 slash line through 117 plate appearances this season.
-
Salvador Perez KC C
Royals' Salvador Perez: Three hits in win
13m agoPerez went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.
Perez opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning and got one base three more times in Friday's victory. The veteran catcher is batting .294 (15-for-51) with seven extra-base hits and eight RBI contests in May. That's actually down from his overall numbers -- Perez is slashing a stellar .335/.403/.557 with eight home runs, 34 RBI, 18 runs scored and 11 doubles over 176 plate appearances. He last hit above .300 for a full season in the abbreviated 2020 campaign, so there is a high risk that he cools off eventually in 2024, but he's been excellent over the first quarter of the season.
-
Maikel Garcia KC 3B
Royals' Maikel Garcia: Lifts three-run homer
18m agoGarcia went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Friday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.
Garcia went deep as part of a five-run sixth inning that put the Royals in full control. The third baseman has hit safely in five straight games, adding two steals and four RBI in that span despite going a meager 5-for-22 (.227). Garcia's been held hitless in just three of 14 games in May, so he's still putting together decent at-bats despite not having an explosive offense. The 24-year-old is slashing .238/.286/.381 with five homers, 28 RBI, 21 runs scored and 10 steals through 44 contests overall.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Leaves game early
2h agoHart left Friday's Game 6 against the Pacers early with abdominal soreness and wasn't able to return. He finished with five points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block in 31 minutes.
Hart has been powering through a variety of issues in the playoffs, but the Knicks likely erred on the side of caution Friday due to the lopsided score. Presumably, Hart will be ready for Game 7 on Sunday, but there should be more clarity on Saturday when the Knicks practice.

Kristaps Porzingis BOS C
Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Expected to miss start of Round 3
5h agoPorzingis (calf) is expected to miss the start of the third-round series in the Eastern Conference Finals, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Porzingis has been sidelined since he sustained a calf injury in Game 4 of Boston's first-round series. Wojnarowski reports that Porzingis is making progress in his recovery, and there's some optimism that he could return at some point during the series. Boston will face the winner of the second-round series between the Knicks and Pacers, and the opening two games are slated for Tuesday and Thursday.

Luka Doncic DAL PG
Mavericks' Luka Doncic: Listed as probable again
7h agoDoncic is probable for Saturday's Game 6 against the Thunder due to a right knee sprain and left ankle soreness.
Doncic hasn't missed a game this postseason despite being a regular on the injury report. That trend should continue Saturday as the Mavericks attempt to secure a spot in the Western Conference Finals. Across the previous five matchups versus Oklahoma City, Doncic averaged 23.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 41.0 minutes per game.
-
Olivier-Maxence Prosper DAL SF
Mavericks' Olivier-Maxence Prosper: Remains out
7h agoProsper (ankle) won't play in Saturday's Game 6 against the Thunder.
Prosper has yet to suit up this postseason while dealing with a left ankle sprain. While it is unclear when the rookie forward will return to action, it seems unlikely he will receive significant playing time even when available.
-
Anthony Edwards MIN SG
Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards: Scores 27 in big win Thursday
1d agoEdwards notched 27 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, four assists and three steals in 34 minutes during Thursday's 115-70 victory over Denver in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Edwards bounced back from an ugly outing in Game 5 and led Minnesota in scoring in this pivotal matchup, as he looked far more aggressive than during his previous appearance. Edwards deserves credit for his constant off-the-ball movement as well, as his movements on the perimeter, coupled with the return of Mike Conley from a one-game absence, made things very difficult for Denver on defense. This was Edwards' fourth game with at least 25 points in the series, and he's expected to operate as Minnesota's primary offensive weapon in Sunday's do-or-die Game 7 at Ball Arena.
-
Jaden McDaniels MIN SF
Timberwolves' Jaden McDaniels: Excels in Game 6 victory
1d agoMcDaniels notched 21 points (8-10 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 30 minutes during Thursday's 115-70 victory over Denver in Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
McDaniels is not known for his scoring ability and often gets recognition for his defensive work. Still, he stood out when it mattered the most in this series and finished as Minnesota's second-highest scorer. McDaniels is not expected to hover around the 20-point mark regularly going forward, but this was an excellent showing in a game during which his team needed him to step up. In fact, this was McDaniels' second-best scoring output in the current playoff run, as he scored 25 points in the Game 2 win over the Suns in the first round.
-
Adam Henrique EDM C
Oilers' Adam Henrique: Unavailable Saturday
18m agoHenrique (ankle) will not play Saturday against the Canucks, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Henrique has missed all but one game this series but it does sound like he's nearing a return. However, Edmonton is facing elimination in Game 6 on Saturday. Henrique has two points with four shots on goals through six postseason games. Should the Oilers force a Game 7, he'll have until Monday to get healthy enough to play.
-
Alexandar Georgiev COL G
Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Tending twine Friday
3h agoGeorgiev will get the starting nod for Game 6 at home against the Stars on Friday.
Georgiev wasn't very sharp in Game 5 but still managed to earn a win despite allowing three goals on 26 shots. He's registered an unsightly .880 save percentage through five games this series. Georgiev owns a 3.09 GAA and an .886 save percentage in 10 postseason appearances.
-
Dylan Garand NYR G
Rangers' Dylan Garand: Reassigned to minors
5h agoGarand was demoted to AHL Hartford on Friday, per CapFriendly.
Garand earned a promotion for Game 6 against Carolina on Thursday but was quickly sent back down. Barring multiple injuries to goaltenders, he shouldn't see any action for the Rangers this postseason.
-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Guarding cage Friday
6h agoSwayman will get the starting nod for Game 6 at home against the Panthers on Friday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Swayman will make his 11th consecutive start Friday. He's won five of his previous 10 while posting a .929 save percentage over that span. However, he's registered a 3.03 GAA and a .915 save percentage this series against Florida. Swayman helped fend off elimination with a Game 5 win by stopping 28 of 29 shots.
-
Brad Marchand BOS LW
Bruins' Brad Marchand: Good to go Friday
6h agoMarchand (upper body) is warming up and is expected to play Friday against the Panthers, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Marchand will get back in the lineup after missing Games 4 and 5 due to an injury he sustained during Game 3. He tallied two assists in the first three games this series and has 10 this postseason. He'll slide back into his usual top-six role with a heavy role on the power play.
-
Jake Oettinger DAL G
Stars' Jake Oettinger: Set to start Friday
9h agoOettinger is slated to guard the road goal against Colorado in Game 6 on Friday.
Oettinger will look to rebound after allowing five goals on 27 shots en route to a 5-3 loss to the Avalanche in Game 5 on Wednesday. He's 7-5 with a 2.27 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 12 playoff appearances this year. The Avalanche are fantastic offensively, having ranked first in the regular season with 3.68 goals per contest, so they're likely to test Oettinger frequently in the upcoming clash.
