6h agoDavidson (undisclosed) is competing for one of the Bills' final roster spots at tight end this offseason, Joe Buscaglia reports.
Davidson missed the entire 2023 campaign after the Bills placed him on injured reserve last June. The nature of the 25-year-old's injury was never disclosed, though it appears he's now past this issue considering that he's set to compete for a depth role this offseason. Davidson's primary competition should be Tre' McKitty and Quintin Morris.

7h agoVorhees (knee-ACL) was an active participant in the Ravens' rookie minicamp Friday through Monday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Vorhees missed his entire rookie season after suffering a torn ACL during the 2023 NFL combine. While he has yet to participate in any padded sessions, the seventh-round pick appears to be back to full health for this year's rookie minicamp. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh also said that Vorhees will compete for a starting job at guard ahead of the 2024 season.

8h agoThe Seahawks waived Cordeiro on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cordeiro's landed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent Friday. The 24-year-old out of San Jose State would have likely competed for a spot on the Seahawks' practice squad this offseason, but he'll now look to latch on elsewhere ahead of the 2024 campaign.

13h agoHines (knee) said Tuesday he expects to be available for the start of training camp, Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland reports.
Hines underwent surgery to repair his left ACL last August, then was released by the Bills in March after missing the entire 2023 season. Assuming he's indeed healthy by the start of training camp, Hines should compete for third-down snaps in the backfield and return work on special teams. With Nick Chubb working his way back from a serious knee injury of his own and no lock to be ready for Week 1, Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman are likely to operate as Cleveland's top backs to begin training camp.

14h agoMiller agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year contract with the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Miller reunites with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith in Pittsburgh, after he logged a 11-161-2 receiving line across 17 appearances in 2023 in Atlanta, where Smith had served as the head coach. The wideout now gets a chance to compete with names like Quez Watkins, Denzel Mims, Marquez Callaway and Dez Fitzpatrick for a depth role with the Steelers this offseason.

15h agoSpector (back) is expected to compete with Dorian Williams for Buffalo's top backup role at linebacker, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Spector appears to be recovered from the back injury that ended his 2023 season early, and his spot on the 53-man roster heading into training camp appears secure due to his standing as a key special-teams contributor. Because of his draft capital as a 2023 third-round pick, Williams will likely be the favorite to win the top backup role this offseason, but Spector could have a solid chance to earn more opportunities if he can impress in workouts.

2h agoPena went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in a 9-4 loss to the Yankees on Wednesday.
Pena had been in a small funk coming into the contest, going 2-for-14 over his previous four games. He bounced back Wednesday with his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign, which included his first long ball in May. Pena has been a pleasant surprise for Houston this season, slashing .326/.367/.464 with four homers, 14 RBI, 21 runs and five stolen bases through 147 plate appearances.

2h agoStanton went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 9-4 win against Houston.
Stanton hit one of three homers for New York in the victory, taking Spencer Arrighetti deep for a 447-foot solo blast in the third inning. It was the second straight game with a long ball for the slugger, and he extended his modest hitting streak to five games. Stanton has struck out 10 times in 20 at-bats over that stretch, so he's far from locked in at the plate, but three of his five hits during the streak have gone for extra bases.

2h agoJudge went 3-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and three total RBI against Houston in a 9-4 win Wednesday.
Judge tagged Houston pitching for three extra-base hits, the first time he's accomplished that feat in a game this season. The slugger swatted a solo shot in the third inning and knocked in two more runs with a double in the sixth. Judge is coming on quickly after a slow start to the campaign -- he's in the midst of a five-game hitting streak during which he's gone 9-for-18 with two homers, four doubles, four walks, six RBI, six runs and a stolen base.

Juan Soto NYY RFYankees' Juan Soto: Racks up five RBI in win
2h agoSoto went 3-for-5 with a home run and five total RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 victory versus the Astros.
Soto put New York on the board in the first inning with a 440-foot two-run blast to center field. He added a run-scoring single in the second frame, an RBI groundout in the sixth and a run-scoring single in the eighth. Soto ranks second in the majors with 33 RBI on the campaign thanks largely to his nine homers and .423 batting average with runners in scoring position.

2h agoArrighetti (0-4) took the loss against the Yankees on Wednesday, pitching five innings during which he allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out four batters.
Arrighetti was victimized by the long ball in the loss, as New York belted three homers against him. After posting his best career start in allowing two runs over 5.2 frames against Cleveland his previous time out, the rookie right-hander was back to scuffling Wednesday. He's lost four of his five starts this season while registering an 8.44 ERA, 2.02 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB over 21.1 innings. He may be bumped from the rotation with Cristian Javier (neck) slated to return from the injured list this weekend.

Carlos Rodon NYY SPYankees' Carlos Rodon: Secures third victory
2h agoRodon (3-2) earned the win over Houston on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings.
Rodon gave up six earned runs over four frames in his worst start of the campaign his last time out, but he bounced back with a strong showing Wednesday. The left-hander racked up 16 swinging strikes against the Astros, leading to his second-highest single-game strikeout total of the season. While Rodon's season ERA sits at a mediocre 3.56, that's largely due to the blowup outing against Baltimore. He has posted a 2.54 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 37:14 K:BB over 39 innings across his other seven starts.

5h agoMcBride amassed four points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one assist across 20 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
McBride managed just four points in the win, struggling to find any real rhythm on the offensive end. Although his role has been somewhat limited to this point, OG Anunoby (hamstring) going down could open up an interesting opportunity. Should Anunoby be forced to miss time, look for McBride to potentially slide into the starting lineup for Game 3.

5h agoBurks closed Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with zero points (0-1 FG) in one minute.
Burks dusted himself off Wednesday, leaving the bench for the first time this postseason. Jalen Brunson was forced to the locker room during the second quarter, affording one minute of playing time to Burks. Given Brunson was able to return to the game, it is unlikely we see Burks again anytime soon.

5h agoHartenstein contributed 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, eight assists and one block over 39 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 victory over the Pacers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Hartenstein continues to impress for the Knicks, falling two assists short of a triple-double. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) likely out for the remainder of the postseason, Hartenstein should be in line for heavy minutes moving forward. It's been a breakout season for Hartenstein, one that should have him well-placed to receive a sizeable upgrade when it comes time to discuss his future contract.

5h agoSheppard chipped in 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and one assist over 20 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Sheppard continues to play meaningful minutes for the Pacers, connecting on three triples en route to 11 points. While the Pacers ended with six players logging double-digit scoring, it was still not enough to get over the hump in front of a vocal New York crowd. Sheppard should continue to serve as a three-point threat off the bench.

5h agoHaliburton totaled 34 points (11-19 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to New York in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Haliburton finally found some rhythm on the offensive end, putting up a game-high 34 points, including seven triples. Although the Pacers managed to put up a respectable total, their defense simply wasn't up to the task of slowing down the Knicks. With the series now shifting to Indiana, Haliburton will look to build on this performance in the hopes of keeping the series alive.

5h agoNesmith totaled six points (2-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 130-121 loss to the Knicks in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Nesmith managed just six points in the loss, continuing his disappointing postseason. While he does provide the Pacers with a reliable defensive asset, his inability to score on a consistent basis remains a concern. The series will now head to Indiana, where the Pacers will look to secure their first win.

5h agoMontour tallied a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Bruins in Game 2.
Montour picked up a pair of assists in the second period before putting the finishing touches on the Florida victory with a shorthanded goal in the third, poking a feed from Aleksander Barkov past Linus Ullmark. The 30-year-old Montour now has two goals and six points in the playoffs after logging 33 points (eight goals, 25 assists) in 66 regular-season games.

Jeremy Swayman allowed three goals in the second period and a fourth tally 1:28 into the third before the Bruins turned to Ullmark in net. While Swayman would wind up with the loss, Ullmark didn't fair much better, allowing two more goals later in the frame. The 30-year-old Ullmark hadn't made an appearance since Game 2 of Boston's opening-round series against Toronto when he allowed three goals on 34 shots in a loss. However, the Bruins could turn back to a timeshare in net prior to Game 3 on Friday.

Reinhart set up Aleksander Barkov's go-ahead goal in the second period before adding assists on all three of Florida's third-period goals. The 28-year-old Reinhart hadn't recorded an assist in his prior seven postseason games, though he had three goals in the Panthers' opening-round series versus Tampa Bay. Reinhart posted 57 goals and 94 points, both career highs, in 82 regular-season contests.

5h agoSwayman was handed the loss Wednesday in Game 2 against the Panthers after allowing four goals on 23 shots before he was replaced by Linus Ullmark early in the third period.
Swayman blanked Florida in the first period before surrendering three goals in the second, including a Gustav Forsling tally with just two seconds left in the frame. Swayman would give up a fourth goal 1:28 into the third before he was replaced by Ullmark. It's the first time in eight postseason starts that Swayman's allowed more than two goals -- he still sports an impressive .942 save percentage with a 1.81 GAA. Swayman had earned the primary starting job in the postseason after splitting the workload with Ullmark for most of the year, though the Bruins may elect to make a change prior to Friday's Game 3.

6h agoBobrovsky stopped 14 of 15 shots in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Bruins in Game 2.
After surrendering the opening goal to Charlie Coyle in the opening period, Bobrovsky turned aside nine Bruins' shots over the final two frames while Florida rallied with six unanswered goals in the series-tying win. While it wasn't the busiest game for Bobrovsky, it was a nice bounce-back effort after he allowed four goals on 28 shots in Game 1. The 35-year-old netminder now sports an .893 save percentage in the playoffs after going 36-17-4 with a .915 save percentage and 2.37 GAA in the regular season.

Barkov powered the Panthers' offense in the convincing series-tying victory, putting Florida ahead 2-1 with a tally in the second period before adding another goal and two helpers in the third. The 28-year-old Barkov now has four goals and eight points in his last three games after going scoreless in his previous three contests. He's up to 10 points (four goals, six assists) through seven postseason contests.
