2m agoThe Patriots released Vaughn on Tuesday, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports.
The 27-year-old running back out of Vanderbilt signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots back in January, but he's now been cut loose. Vaughn has spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Buccaneers, recording 384 rushing yards on 103 attempts. This move comes as New England frees up space within the 90-man roster limit, and Vaughn will now seek an opportunity to compete elsewhere.

The veteran tight end has spent time with six different teams across his eight-year career, and he's now headed to Nashville after agreeing to terms with the Titans on Tuesday. Vannett most recently played with the Chargers, tallying 125 offensive snaps across eight games and recording one reception for three yards in 2023. Expect the 31-year-old to compete for a depth role in Tennessee's tight end room as the offseason progresses.

20m agoThe Falcons signed Dwelley (ankle) on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Dwelley finished last season on injured reserve after sustaining an ankle injury, but it now seems as if he's moved past the issue. After spending the first six seasons of his NFL career with the 49ers, the 29-year-old tight end has agreed to terms with the Falcons. Across his last three seasons, Dwelley has appeared in 41 games and made two starts, catching eight of his 12 targets for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Despite his underwhelming offensive production, the San Diego product has been a consistent contributor on special teams (619 special teams snaps over the last three years), and he's expected to compete for a similar role in Atlanta.

The Wagner product spent the first three seasons of his career with the Buccaneers and he will remain in the NFC South after inking a deal with the Panthers. Gill was a key special-teamer during his time in Tampa Bay, playing 768 special teams snaps (out of 952 total snaps) and recording 29 total tackles, including one tackle for loss and an additional 1.5 sacks across the last three years. He's expected to compete for another special teams role in Carolina, while also providing some extra depth to the team's pass-rushing unit.

1h agoHendrickson is participating in the Bengals' offseason workouts despite requesting a trade in late April, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Hendrickson is under contract for the next two seasons and he's set to make $15 million in 2024, but he's unhappy with the lack of long-term security that Cincinnati has been willing to offer. The 29-year-old edge rusher is coming off the most productive season of his career, putting up 43 total tackles, including a career-best 16 tackles for loss and an additional 1.5 sacks. With Hendrickson participating in the Bengals' offseason workouts, he's expected to continue wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks in 2024, whether that's in Cincinnati or elsewhere.

Springer made his return from a two-game absence due to an illness in Sunday's 5-1 loss to the Twins, starting in right field and playing all nine innings while going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. The Blue Jays haven't indicated that Springer is still feeling under the weather, so his absence Monday is likely just a pre-planned maintenance day as he works his way back to full strength following the bout with the illness. Cavan Biggio will replace Springer in right field.

4m agoThe Cubs placed Alzolay on the 15-day injured list Monday with a right forearm strain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.
Alzolay actually netted a save in Sunday's extra-inning win over the Pirates, although he gave up two runs (one earned) in the process. The righty has not looked like himself this season, collecting a 4.67 ERA and 13:6 K:BB over 17.1 innings. Hector Neris will continue to operate as the Cubs' primary closer.

He'll likely get a more proper day of rest Monday while Alejandro Kirk gets another turn behind the plate.

Kiermaier will miss out on a fourth consecutive start while he's apparently still under the weather, but he was able to make an appearance as a late-inning defensive replacement in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Twins. He'll presumably be available off the bench again Monday, provided he hasn't experienced any setbacks in his recovery from the ailment. Daulton Varsho will cover center field in Kiermaier's stead in the series opener in Baltimore.

4m agoMurray is questionable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Timberwolves due to a left calf strain.
After a tumultuous Game 2, Murray and the Nuggets rebounded for back-to-back wins in Minnesota to even the series. While the calf injury remains a storyline for the point guard, Murray hasn't looked bothered by the issue over the last two games, as he's averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 38.5 minutes. Murray is likely more probable than questionable for Game 5, but his official availability will likely come down to a game-time decision.

5h agoDoncic (knee/ankle) took part in the Mavericks' morning shootaround but remains questionable for Monday's Game 4 matchup with the Thunder in the Western Conference semifinal round, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.
Despite carrying a questionable tag into Game 4, Doncic doesn't seem to be in any real danger of missing the contest. He helped the Mavericks claim a 2-1 series lead in Saturday's 105-101 win, pouring in 22 points (7-17 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 7-10 FT) to go with 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals across 40 minutes.

5h agoEdwards finished Sunday's 115-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 44 points (16-25 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 45 minutes.
Edwards carried the Timberwolves on offense in Game 4, and at times, he did the heavy lifting all by himself. However, his impressive stat line was not enough to avoid a second consecutive loss at home. Edwards has scored 40 or more points in three of his last five playoff appearances, including twice in the current series. He'll aim to keep that run going Tuesday in Game 5.

Conley didn't have his best shooting performance, but the veteran point guard keeps finding ways to contribute even when his shot isn't falling. He's now scored in double digits in three of the four games thus far while dishing out at least six assists each time.

5h agoTowns posted 13 points (5-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one steal in 38 minutes during Sunday's 115-107 loss to the Nuggets in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Towns might have ended with a double-double, and his overall stat line looked decent despite the loss. Still, his shooting woes are impossible to overlook, especially in a game where the Timberwolves needed him to provide a spark on offense. Towns needs to be better offensively for the Wolves. Otherwise, he forces players such as Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley to handle bigger roles on offense, and that's not a recipe for success. Towns is averaging 18.5 points per game while shooting 50.9 percent from the field in the series, and he needs to shake off this woeful showing in Game 5 on Tuesday.

Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Scores 19 points in Game 4 win
5h agoMurray provided 19 points (8-17 FG, 3-7 3Pt), five rebounds, eight assists and two steals over 39 minutes during Sunday's 115-107 win over Minnesota in Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Murray drained a half-court buzzer-beater to end the first half and finished just two assists shy of posting what would've been his first double-double of the series. The shooting woes remain for Murray, however, as he's hitting just 40 percent of his field goals so far in the four games against Minnesota, but he seems to be trending in the right direction after scoring 19 or more points in his last two contests.

3h agoOettinger will guard the road goal in Game 4 versus Colorado on Monday, per Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News.
Oettinger has won his last two outings, including a 28-save performance in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Avalanche in Game 3. He has a 6-4 record with a 2.12 GAA and a .919 save percentage through 10 starts this postseason. If the Stars emerge victorious in Monday's contest, the team can take a commanding 3-1 series lead back to Dallas for Game 5 on Wednesday.

Hakanpaa sat out the final 13 games of the regular season and will miss his 11th straight playoff contest. It's still unclear when he will be available to return to the lineup. Hakanpaa registered two goals, 12 points, 56 shots on net, 123 blocked shots and 196 hits in 64 appearances during the 2023-24 campaign.

He'll try to help the Avalanche even the series up at two games apiece by picking up his sixth win of the playoffs during Monday's pivotal home contest versus Dallas.

Drouin has yet to play during the playoffs due to a lower-body injury. He practiced with the No. 1 power-play unit during Monday's morning skate, suggesting he could be closer to probable than questionable for Game 4 against the Stars. He collected 19 goals and 56 points through 79 regular-season contests.

5h agoChytil (illness) remains questionable to face Carolina in Game 5 on Monday after head coach Peter Laviolette told reporters, "He practiced this morning. That's a real positive thing for our team. I'm going to keep any lineup decisions that I make to myself," per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.
The fact that Chytil didn't take part in line rushes would certainly indicate that he won't be in action Monday but fantasy managers will have to wait until closer to puck drop for official confirmation on the center's status. If he were to be cleared to play, Chytil would likely knock Jonny Brodzinski from the lineup while filling a bottom-six role.
