Angels' Kyren Paris: Promoted to majors
    4h ago

Paris was recalled from Double-A Rocket City on Thursday.

With both Brandon Drury (hamstring) and Luis Rengifo (illness) sidelined, the Angels were shorthanded along the infield. Paris boasts enough defensive versatility to help the team in that regard, as he is capable of playing second base and shortstop as well as in the outfield. His ability to contribute as a hitter is far less clear, as he was striking out at a 39.1 percent clip across 92 plate appearances with Rocket City prior to his promotion.

Brown struggled from deep in Thursday's contest, not connecting on a three but still ending second on the team in scoring in a near 20-point outing in a Game 2 defeat. Brown had a down game in comparison to Tuesday's 32-point showing in Game 1 and Boston will need the star guard to contribute more in order to steal a game on the road in Game 3 and break a series tie with Cleveland.

Pritchard once again provide a spark off the Celtics bench in Thursday's contest, leading all Boston bench players in scoring and assists while ending as one of five Celtics in double figures in scoring in a losing effort. Pritchard has had a strong semifinals series through two games, reaching double figures in both games while playing at least 20 minutes off the bench in both contests. It will be key for the Celtics to get contributions from Pritchard and the rest of the bench this series, and we will likely continue to see Pritchard earn a large chunk of minutes on the second unit.

Mitchell has done it all for the Cavaliers through two games against the Celtics, averaging 31 points so far in the semifinals. Mobley stepped up as the starting center while Jarrett Allen (ribs) remained out in Game 2, leading all players in the contest in rebounds and blocks to go along with a handful of assists while ending as one of three Cavaliers with 20 or more points in a double-double performance. Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin: Keeps scoring Thursday

Nichushkin scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Nichushkin's tally brought the Avalanche within a goal late in the third period, but they couldn't pull off another stunning comeback. The winger has at least one goal in all seven playoff contests so far, scoring nine times with one assist, 24 shots on net, 18 hits and a plus-3 rating. Nichushkin was shuffled to the second line during Thursday's game, but that's unlikely to hamper his production even if it ends up being a more permanent move.

Georgiev allowed four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Georgiev and the Avalanche again found themselves in a hole early on, and the comeback effort fell short this time around. Georgiev's five-game winning streak was snapped, and he's now allowed 10 goals over his last three outings. The Stars are giving him trouble early in games, though he may be able to get back on track with this second-round series shifting back to Colorado for Games 3 and 4 on Saturday and Monday, respectively.

Lundkvist posted an assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche in Game 2.

Lundkvist's minutes have been heavily managed during the postseason -- he's reached 10 minutes in just one of nine playoff games. As such, he's produced next to nothing statistically, with the assist being his first point to go with a minus-1 rating, one shot on goal, five hits and one blocked shot. Lundkvist will almost certainly lose his place in the lineup once Jani Hakanpaa (lower body) is fit to play.

Tanev logged an assist, two hits and four blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche in Game 2.

Tanev helped out on Esa Lindell's empty-net goal. The assist snapped an 11-game point drought for Tanev, who continues to be a defensive force with little scoring upside during the postseason. He's posted 35 blocked shots, 12 hits, eight shots on net and a plus-5 rating through nine playoff outings following a 19-point regular season across 75 games for Dallas and Calgary.

Harley logged a shorthanded assist and four shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche in Game 2.

Harley took a shot, and Tyler Seguin was able to knock in the rebound for the Stars' fourth goal. Both of Harley's helpers this postseason have come within the last three games. The 22-year-old blueliner is up to 18 shots on net, 24 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating while holding down a top-four role. Dallas has leaned heavily on its top defensemen, so Harley should continue to see massive minutes even if he's not a significant factor on offense.

The winger has two points, four shots on net, six PIM and 11 hits over three playoff outings. He should continue to play in a middle-six role with some power-play time as long as he can stay healthy.
