Lucas Patrick CHI OG
Saints' Lucas Patrick: Headed to Big Easy
17h agoThe Saints signed Patrick (calf) to a one-year contract Sunday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Patrick appeared in 23 games with 20 starts over the past two seasons with Chicago. The 30-year-old was the team's starting center for almost the entire 2023 campaign, but he ended the year on IR due to an unspecified calf injury. While the nature of this issue was never revealed, Patrick now appears to be healthy again. He should now provide depth along the interior of New Orleans' offensive line.

Ramon Jefferson 2005 RB
Buccaneers' Ramon Jefferson: Inks deal with Tampa
17h agoThe Buccaneers signed Jefferson on Sunday, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports.
Jefferson was one of 26 players brought in on a tryout basis during Tampa Bay's rookie minicamp Friday and Saturday. The 5-foot-10 running back played at four different schools during his collegiate career, beginning at Maine in 2017. He spent his final two seasons with Kentucky after a standout stint at FCS Sam Houston, where he logged 1,907 yards on 299 carries across two years. However, he finished with just 28 rushes for 184 yards across 11 games with the Wildcats in 2023.

Kaden Davis ARI WR
Lions' Kaden Davis: Joining Detroit
21h agoThe Lions are signing Davis to a contract after he attended rookie camp on a tryout basis, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Davis was waived by the Cardinals in late April after spending most of last year on the team's practice squad. He was active for one contest during the campaign but didn't see any snaps. The 25-year-old will get a shot to compete for a roster spot among a WR corps that is headed by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu NYJ OT
Jets' Olumuyiwa Fashanu: Recovering from quad injury
21h agoFashanu strained his quadriceps while running the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and could miss some or all of OTAs due to the injury, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Rosenblatt described the injury as minor, so Fashanu should be recovered well before the start of the regular season, but the 11th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft may not be ready to join his new teammates at the start of offseason workouts. The offensive tackle out of Penn State has been working off to the side with trainers during the Jets' rookie minicamp.
-
Bud Dupree ATL OLB
Chargers' Bud Dupree: Set to join Chargers
2d agoDupree will sign a two-year contract with the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Dupree reportedly met with both the Falcons and Steelers recently in addition to the Chargers, and it appears that he'll end up with Los Angeles. The veteran edge rusher enjoyed a solid bounce-back campaign with Atlanta last season, recording 39 tackles (his most since 2019), including 6.5 sacks (his most since 2020). Dupree will add to an already formidable Chargers pass rush that also includes Joey Bosa (foot), Khalil Mack and Tuli Tuipulotu.

AJ Parker CAR CB
AJ Parker: Waived with non-football injury
2d agoThe Panthers waived Parker with an undisclosed non-football injury Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
The details and severity of Parker's injury are unknown, other than the fact that it did not occur on the football field. The cornerback will now be available to be claimed off waivers should any other teams show interest.

Bryce Elder ATL SP
Braves' Bryce Elder: Looks sharp in no-decision
6m agoElder pitched well in Sunday's loss to the Mets but did not factor into the decision. He allowed two runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out six in 5.1 innings.
Elder fell just two outs short of his second quality start of the year. The lone damage against him came off the bat of Pete Alonso, who had an RBI single in the third and another run scoring double in the sixth. Elder tossed 65 of 85 pitches for strikes and managed to not issue any free passes after allowing eight walks over his last 8.2 innings. The 25-year-old owns a 4.79 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB in 20.2 innings and lines up for a home start against the Padres his next time out.
-
Joshua Lowe TB RF
Rays' Josh Lowe: Hits in four of five games
12m agoLowe went 1-for-4 with a double and a walk Sunday against the Yankees.
Lowe has appeared in five games since returning from an oblique and hamstring injury, and he's reached base in all four of his starts. He's hit either second or third in the Rays' lineup, though he did sit in the team's only game against a lefty since he was activated.
-
A.J. Minter ATL RP
Braves' A.J. Minter: Charged with blown save
13m agoMinter was charged with a blown save in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mets after allowing two runs on two hits while managing to get just one out.
Minter was called upon to close things out in the ninth with Raisel Iglesias unavailable to pitch and failed to take advantage. Jeff McNeil reached on a bunt single before Brandon Nimmo ended things with a two-run walk off homer to center field. Minter has now suffered three blown saves this season and has coughed up runs in two of his last three outings. He owns a 3.78 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB in 16.2 innings.
-
Blake Snell SF SP
Giants' Blake Snell: Four perfect frames in rehab start
13m agoSnell (thigh) struck out seven over four perfect innings in his first rehab start with Single-A San Jose on Sunday.
Snell even completed an immaculate inning in the first as part of an impressive showing from the southpaw. The results should be taken with a grain of salt given the level of competition, but the bottom line for Snell was certainly encouraging. Snell got his pitch count up to 46 in his four efficient frames, which would seem to point to him needing at least one more rehab start. That has not yet been confirmed, however. He's been out since late April with a Grade 2 adductor strain.
-
Garrett Cooper BOS 1B
Red Sox's Garrett Cooper: Two hits in win
14m agoCooper started at first base and went 2-for-3 with a double in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.
Cooper recorded his first multi-hit game since being acquired by the Red Sox on April 28. He was eventually pinch hit for by the left-handed hitting Dominic Smith in the eighth inning against a righty reliever with a runner in scoring position. With Triston Casas (oblique) on the 60-day injured list, first base has become a rotation involving Cooper, Smith and Romy Gonzalez.
-
Yandy Diaz TB 1B
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Continues hot stretch
16m agoDiaz went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Sunday against the Yankees.
Diaz launched his second homer in as many games and his third of the season. He has turned his results around in May, as he's maintained a .333 average with eight RBI and eight runs scored across 10 games. Diaz remains locked in as the Rays' leadoff hitter and should be a strong source of batting average and runs scored moving forward.

Kendall Brown IND SF
Pacers' Kendall Brown: Enters rotation in blowout win
6h agoBrown totaled zero points (0-2 FG), two rebounds and one block in 10 minutes during Sunday's 121-89 victory over the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Brown, along with a number of fellow second-stringers, saw an uptick in playing time Sunday. The Pacers took control early and never relinquished, leveling the series at 2-2. Game 5 is in New York on Tuesday, where both teams will look to gain the upper hand.
-
Jarace Walker IND PF
Pacers' Jarace Walker: Slots into rotation
6h agoWalker provided five points (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal over nine minutes during Sunday's 121-89 victory over the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Walker played nine minutes off the bench, joining his fellow benchwarmers as the Pacers blew out the Knicks. While it was nice to see the rookie on the floor, there was possibly a case to be made for him playing even more minutes given the nature of the scoreline.
-
Isaiah Jackson IND C
Pacers' Isaiah Jackson: Increased role Sunday
6h agoJackson registered 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and two steals in 19 minutes during Sunday's 121-89 win over New York in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Jackson played a substantial role Sunday as the Pacers easily accounted for the Knicks, leveling the series at 2-2. This was an ugly loss for New York, while Indiana fans were having the time of their lives at the Knicks' expense. Given the grit and grind attitude in New York, expect to see a much-improved performance when the series continues Tuesday.
-
DaQuan Jeffries NY SG
Knicks' DaQuan Jeffries: Rare appearance Sunday
6h agoJeffries had five points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three rebounds and one steal across 13 minutes during Sunday's 121-89 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Jeffries made a rare appearance Sunday as the Knicks went deep into their rotation. The Pacers dominated from start to finish, meaning even Tom Thibodeau couldn't justify playing his starters big minutes. Obviously, this is not something fans should expect to see very often.
-
Shake Milton NY SG
Knicks' Shake Milton: Cracks rotation in blowout loss
6h agoMilton supplied three points (0-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), one rebound and one assist across 15 minutes during Sunday's 121-89 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Milton saw his first minutes of the postseason, playing the entire fourth quarter of what was an ugly loss. The series is now tied at 2-2, however, the Pacers have all the momentum heading back to New York. Assuming the next game is a tighter affair, don't expect to see Milton in the rotation.
-
Alec Burks NY PG
Knicks' Alec Burks: Drops team-high 20 points
6h agoBurks contributed 20 points (5-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-10 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes during Sunday's 121-89 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Burks made the most of a favorable situation, pouring in 20 points as the Knicks were blown out by the Pacers. We know Burks can put up points in a hurry when afforded meaningful playing time. With that said, New York fans will be hoping this is not the case moving forward given his outbursts tend to come when the Knicks are on the wrong end of the blowout.
-
Alex Lyon DET G
Red Wings' Alex Lyon: Suffers injury with Team USA
1m agoLyon sustained an undisclosed injury while playing for the United States at the 2024 IIHF World Championship.
Lyon has returned to the US to undergo further evaluation and will not participate in the tournament any further. The netminder figures to be in a battle for the starting job next season, assuming he doesn't miss any significant time, alongside Ville Husso.
-
Darnell Nurse EDM D
Oilers' Darnell Nurse: Bags power-play assist
8h agoNurse notched a power-play assist, four shots on goal, three hits and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.
Nurse snapped a four-game dry spell with his helper on a Mattias Ekholm tally in the first period. The 29-year-old Nurse has been limited to two assists over eight playoff outings, and he's added 17 shots on net, 13 hits, 22 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating. He's played on the second pairing, with Ekholm leapfrogging Nurse for a spot alongside Evan Bouchard on the top pairing. Nurse can still add some physicality, but his offense is likely to be limited with less ice time.
-
Evander Kane EDM LW
Oilers' Evander Kane: Helps out on power play
8h agoKane notched a power-play assist and four hits in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.
Kane hadn't posted a power-play point since March 23. The winger, who missed time late in the regular season due to a sports hernia, has four points, 21 shots on net, 30 hits and 15 PIM over eight playoff contests. He's primarily played in a middle-six role and on the second power-play unit, so his scoring contributions are likely to remain limited to a supporting level.
-
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins EDM C
Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Contributes power-play assist
8h agoNugent-Hopkins logged a power-play assist and two hits in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.
Nugent-Hopkins has six helpers over his last four games, with three of them coming on the power play. Through eight playoff outings, he has a goal, nine helpers, six power-play points, 11 shots on net, 15 hits and an even plus-minus rating. He's centered the second line in that last two games as head coach Kris Knoblauch attempts to spark the Oilers' offense by uniting Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl at even strength.
-
Mattias Ekholm EDM D
Oilers' Mattias Ekholm: One of each Sunday
8h agoEkholm scored a power-play goal on four shots, dished an assist and added two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.
The Oilers' second power-play unit made a rare contribution, with Ekholm getting the opening goal. He also set up Evan Bouchard in the third period, bu the Canucks controlled the scoring in between those tallies. All three of Ekholm's goals this postseason have come in the second round, and he's added two assists, 16 shots on net, 10 hits, 12 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff outings overall. The 33-year-old should continue to see his even-strength minutes on the top pairing alongside Bouchard.
-
Evan Bouchard EDM D
Oilers' Evan Bouchard: Produces pair of points
8h agoBouchard scored a goal on six shots and added a power-play assist in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canucks in Game 3.
Bouchard has a six-game point streak going, and he's earned four points over three outings in the second round. The defenseman was at the center of the Oilers' comeback push Sunday, but the effort fell short. He has three goals, 10 assists, 30 shots on net, 14 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over eight playoff appearances while playing in a top-pairing role with ample power-play time.
